Sujit Basu

Sujit Basu currently serves as the Head of Pharmaceutical Development at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a position held since 2023. Prior to this role, Sujit Basu was the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Manufacturing and Technical Operations at Fore Biotherapeutics from 2021 to 2023. Previous experience includes serving as VP of Pharmaceutical Sciences in R&D and leading the Oncology Development Leadership Team at Takeda (2019-2021) and holding the title of Vice President of Technical Operations at Shire (2012-2019). Sujit Basu's career also includes leadership roles at Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, Altus Pharmaceuticals, and Alkermes, alongside early experience as a Manufacturing Manager at Sarabhai. Educational achievements include a PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Southern California, a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Jadavpur University, and an undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the same institution. Additional qualifications include a Management degree from Harvard University and participation in the Internet of Things Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
