Alex Milstead

Alex Milstead has a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on automation, infrastructure, and application development. They have experience working at various companies, including IonQ Inc., Optimizely, Jawbone, HireIQ Solutions, Georgia Tech Research Institute, and Autodesk.

At IonQ Inc., Alex currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer, starting in February 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Optimizely from 2014 to 2020, with roles including Senior Staff Software Engineer and Staff Software Engineer. During this time, they played a key role in driving efforts to migrate infrastructure, led cross-functional initiatives, and introduced Docker to improve developer productivity.

Before joining Optimizely, Alex worked at Jawbone as a Senior Software Engineer from 2012 to 2014, where they contributed to software development projects. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Developer at HireIQ Solutions from 2011 to 2012, and at Georgia Tech Research Institute as a Software Developer from 2008 to 2011.

Alex's early work experience includes a co-op role as a Software Developer at Autodesk in 2007, where they worked with .NET frameworks to support and maintain a construction cost-management web application.

Alex Milstead attended the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2011. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science.
