Katie Owens

Katie Owens is a seasoned communications and engagement professional with extensive experience in the healthcare and sports marketing sectors. Currently, as the Senior Director of Engagement at the Iowa Primary Care Association, Katie plays a crucial role on the Leadership team, overseeing the development and implementation of communications and advocacy strategies for the organization and its affiliates. Previously, Katie served as the Director of Communications at the same organization, and gained valuable experience as a Sports Marketing Coordinator for the University of Iowa Athletics Department, where strategic marketing plans were crafted for major sports programs. Additionally, Katie worked as an Office Manager for the Iowa Energy, handling media relations and business operations. Educationally, Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sports Studies from the University of Iowa and has completed a Community Health Center Executive Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
