James Mortimer

James Mortimer has extensive work experience in finance and business management. James began their career as an Auditor at Andersen in 2001 before moving on to become an Audit Manager at Deloitte UK in 2002. At Deloitte, they later became a Director in Transaction Services, specializing in financial due diligence and M&A advice. In 2012, James joined Virgin Active as Head of Business Planning and Performance, where they provided strategic and commercial support for the UK business and led significant disposals. In 2014, they took on the role of European Head of Commercial Finance at Virgin Active, overseeing strategic and commercial support for the European business. Currently, James is serving as the Chief Financial Officer at iQ Student Accommodation, where they lead the finance team and played a key role in the sale of the company to Blackstone.

James Mortimer attended Aylesbury Grammar School from 1991 to 1997. James then pursued a BA (Hons) degree in Economics at the University of Leeds from 1998 to 2001. After that, they went on to complete their FCA degree at ICAEW from 2001 to 2004.
