Michael Kelly has a diverse work experience in the field of offshore and remote medicine. Michael began their career as a Tactical Care/Paramedic/EMT/FPOS-I Instructor/Examiner at D S International in February 2012. Michael also worked as a Paramedic/FPOS-I Tutor at the British Embassy Kosovo and as an Instructor/Tutor for the Trauma Course at EULEX Kosovo, European Union Rule of Law Mission, both in 2012. In 2014, they joined MCL Medics as an HSE Offshore/Remote/Dive Medic. Michael then worked as a Trauma Instructor at Exmed Hereford from April 2016 to October 2018. In February 2013, they started working as a UK HSE Offshore Medic/Instructor at Iqarus until their employment status changed to semi-retired in April 2022. Additionally, they were a Board Member at the Irish College of Paramedics from 2012 to 2017. Michael also contributed their medical expertise as a Vaccinator at Cpl Healthcare from March 2021 to February 2022. Furthermore, they briefly served as an Office Manager at the Maritime Intelligence Bureau of Gulf of Aden Group Transits from May 2011 to November 2011.

Michael Kelly received their education in various institutions. In 1976, they attended CBS James Street in Kilkenny, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. In 2017, they enrolled at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, completing a degree in Offshore Medic. During this program, they focused on ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support). Additionally, they attended the University of Limerick to acquire advanced skills in trauma assessment and treatment for community settings, without specific start and end years provided.
