Daniel Thunberg

Global Head | Off-highway at Irdeto

Daniel Thunberg has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Daniel joined Irdeto in 2001 and held positions such as Commercial Coordinator, Account Manager STB, Product Manager Client Devices, and Director Client Devices. From 2006 to 2008, they served as the Director of Business Development - Digital TV, responsible for global revenue targets and profit and loss in excess of USD100M. Subsequently, they took on roles as Senior Director - Market Development, Senior Director - Marketing, and Vice President - Global Marketing. From 2010 to 2012, they held the position of Vice President Sales Online.

Thunberg then moved on to KIT digital, Inc in 2012 as EVP Sales and Marketing - APAC, followed by a role as SVP Commercial EMEA - APAC at Piksel Inc. in 2013. Daniel later joined International Datacasting in 2014 as the Vice President Global Sales.

Returning to Irdeto in 2015, Thunberg was appointed as the Global Head | Automotive & Connected Transport. As a co-founder of the business unit, they played a crucial role in defining the product strategy and market problems. In 2018, they transitioned to the role of Global Head | Strategy & Business Development, responsible for organic and non-organic growth strategies within the connected transport group. Additionally, they handled sales in Japan and Korea. Currently, they hold the position of Global Head | Off-Highway since May 2020.

Daniel Thunberg has a diverse education history with degrees and certificates in various fields. Daniel began their education in 1994 at Linköping University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Sociology in 1998. Later, in 1999, they attended the University of Amsterdam and completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Relations in 2000.

In 2002, Daniel participated in the Young Professional Programme at the London Business School, focusing on Management and Business Administration. In 2005, they further enhanced their leadership skills by attending IMD, where they studied Mobilising People. The following year, in 2007, they completed a course at IMD called Driving Strategic Innovation.

To expand their knowledge in the field of Marketing, Daniel joined CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2008 and obtained a DipM ACIM degree in 2009.
