Mike Loker has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Mike started their career as a Database Programmer-Analyst at Halton Industry Education Council in 1994. Mike then worked as a Help Desk Technician at Finance Canada in 1995. Mike had three internships as an Information Technology Security Analyst at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, where they gained exposure to various security methods and policy issues.
In 1997, Mike had two internships as a Software Developer at Entrust, where they assisted the business development group in driving sales and marketing initiatives. Mike also designed and developed proof-of-concept projects integrating Entrust services into different platforms.
From 1999 to 2000, Mike worked part-time as a Web Developer at the University of Waterloo, developing web-based courseware and an interactive "virtual tour" of the campus.
At Entrust, Mike worked as a Junior Software Developer, Intermediate Software Developer, and Senior Software Developer in the Professional Services department. Their responsibilities included designing and writing custom software, customizing core products, developing training materials, and providing on-site consulting. Mike worked on major projects such as developing PKI enrollment and self-recovery web applications and custom web-based workflow applications.
Mike joined Irdeto in 2009 as an I.T. Security Engineer where they provided professional services in deploying the Cloakware Password Authority product. Mike then transitioned to Xceedium as an I.T. Security Engineer when they acquired Cloakware's business.
In 2011, Mike became a Senior Software Developer at Xceedium, contributing to the Xsuite R&D and assisting in hiring and training new developers and QA hires. Mike later became a Principal Product Owner at CA Technologies after they acquired Xceedium. In this role, Mike was responsible for securely vaulting and managing Privileged User credentials and providing centralized, monitored, and audited access to critical resources.
Most recently, in 2018, Mike joined Irdeto again as a Product Owner, specifically focusing on Keys & Credentials.
Mike Loker's education history includes earning an Hons. Bachelor degree from the University of Waterloo. Mike studied Sociology and Computer Science at the university from 1994 to 2000. Additionally, they obtained a certification as an Entrust Certified Instructor from Entrust in 2003.
