Alexander Wiedmer

Alexander joined the team in 2000. He is now based in Dubai where he is mainly developing and structuring Iris Capital’s new activities in the MENA region.

He’s currently supporting companies in North America and Europe while he previously backed companies such as Kiala (acq. by UPS), Bluestreak (acq. by Espial), Datamars (acq. by financial investors).

Prior to joining the team, Alexander was Director of Marketing at Universal Content (Canada), a licensing agency for international multimedia content. He had previously co-created an event management consulting company in Canada.

Alexander is a Canadian and Swiss citizen. He studied at Upper Canada College in Toronto and McGill University in Montreal (Canada), has a Hons. BA Phil. at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) and an MBA in Technology Management at EDHEC (France).

He has held various pro bono positions as board member for educational organizations.
