Thomas Craven has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Thomas started their career as a Student at Bolton St College Dublin from 1987 to 1992. Thomas then worked as an Engineer at Thermo King Galway from 1992 to 1994, followed by a role as a Project Engineer at General Controls and Automation Ltd in 1994. Craven then joined Braun Ireland as a Senior Automation Engineer from 1995 to 2001. Thomas then transitioned to the Irish Airp Corps, where they served as the Chief Technical Instructor and Administration Officer from 2001 to 2006, and subsequently as the Engineering Training/Education Manager from 2006 to 2013. In 2013, they joined ISAF as a Staff Officer-Mission Critical Information Coordinator for a brief period. Craven then worked at the Office of Emergency Planning as a Risk Analyst/Manager from 2016 to 2018. Thomas also served in various roles at the Irish Air Corps, including OC 303 Sqn from 2019 to 2022, Eng Director 2I/C No4 Sp Wing in 2018, Engineer/Risk/Emergency Manager from 2013 to 2022, Quality Assurance Manager from 2022 to 2023, and Director of Engineering from 2023. Additionally, Craven worked as a Specialist Staff Officer at DFHQ Joint Task Force COVID 19 from 2020 to 2021. Craven has a wealth of experience in engineering, risk management, aviation, and administration.
Thomas Craven has a strong education background in various fields. Thomas obtained a Master's Degree in Leadership, Management & Defence from the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Emergency Management from Dublin City University between 2010 and 2012. In 1994, they completed a M.Eng.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Info Technology from the University of Galway. Finally, Thomas holds a B. SC Eng in Manufacturing Engineering from Technological University Dublin, which they attained in 1992.
