Patrick Maeda is a Principal Research Scientist and Engineer at SRI International PARC's Future Concepts Division, a position held since October 1994, focusing on research and technology development in laser scanning, solar concentrating optical systems, solid-state lighting, photonic devices, additive manufacturing, and high-power laser systems. Maeda co-invented the solid micro concentrator photovoltaic module, pivotal in forming a joint venture between PARC and SolFocus. Prior to this role, Maeda served as a Senior Member of the Engineering Staff at Xerox Corporation from July 1987 to October 1994, where responsibilities included designing and developing laser scanners for printing applications. Maeda's career began at General Dynamics Pomona Division, working as a Research Engineer on advanced infrared/electro-optical sensors for missile guidance. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
