Mark Slater has held various positions in the software industry over the past 30 years. In 1991, they began their career at Compuware as a Sales Manager, where they built a new business sales team of 8-13 sales people reporting to the UK Managing Director. In 1998, they joined Serena Software as a Sales Director and was later promoted to Northern Europe Sales Director, where they achieved President's Club three times for quota achievement. In 2005, they moved to CAST Software as UK Sales Director, where they were responsible for recruiting and managing sales, pre-sales and marketing teams and creating a new market space with all new licence revenue generated through new name customers. In 2008, they became Sales and Marketing Director at Abstract Solutions, where they were responsible for developing the existing customer base, securing new name customers and developing business partner relationships with ownership of the company revenue target. In 2012, they returned to Serena Software as Northern Europe Sales Director, where they were responsible for sales, pre-sales, inside sales, channel, marketing and consulting teams across UK/Ireland/Nordics, and achieved Presidents Club in FY14 and FY16. In 2017, they joined Applitools as Regional Director Northern Europe, and in 2020 they became Regional Director Northern Europe at IriusRisk and Global Sales Director (Contract) at Element34 Solutions GmbH.

Mark Slater attended the University of Nottingham, where they earned a BSc in Chemistry.
