Carmen Aguilar-Gurrieri, PhD, currently serves as a Research Associate and Post-doctoral Researcher at IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute since October 2017, focusing on the development of a vaccine platform utilizing Virus Like Particles (VLPs) for infectious diseases and cancer immunotherapy. Previous experience includes a career break and multiple post-doctoral fellowships at the Institut de Biologie Structurale and CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, where Carmen engaged in the characterization of the USP8 deubiquitinase in the endocytic pathway. Additional roles include a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at EMBL, contributing to chromatin remodeling during DNA transcription, and earlier training in protein-lipid interactions and biotechnology. Carmen's education includes a PhD in Structural Biology from Université Grenoble Alpes and additional courses in project management and research staff training.
