Javier Martínez-Picado

Javier Martínez-Picado is a highly accomplished Principal Researcher in the Retrovirology and Clinical Studies group at IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute since 2000. Additionally, Javier serves as an ICREA Research Professor and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, roles held since 2006 and 2014, respectively. Previous academic appointments include Assistant Professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Lecturer at the Microbiology Department of Universitat de Barcelona. Javier's research background includes postdoctoral research at Harvard University and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, alongside contributions as Technical Director of the 1st Master in Biotechnology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Microbiology and a Master's degree in Biology from Universitat de Barcelona, complemented by a postgraduate course in Leadership of personal development from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
