Peter van Kessel

Peter Van Kessel, P.Eng, PMP is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as Senior Manager of Engineering Business Services at Irving Oil since June 2020, focusing on project controls for strategic projects. Prior experience includes nearly 16 years at Fluor, where roles ranged from Project Manager overseeing a variety of oil and gas projects to Field Construction Engineer and Mechanical Engineer, gaining extensive experience in project management, environmental compliance, stakeholder management, and design of refining equipment. Earlier, Peter worked as a Reliability Engineer at Bretech Engineering Ltd., specializing in vibration analysis and rotating equipment, and as a Design Engineer at Micro-Optics Design Corporation, where Peter designed ophthalmic manufacturing equipment. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and has additional education from the University of Waterloo.
