Kian-Ming Ong

Kian-Ming Ong serves as the Pro Vice Chancellor for External Engagement and Director of the Philosophy Politics & Economics (PPE) Program at Taylor's University since March 2023. Additionally, Kian-Ming holds advisory roles at AI Nusantara and as a Senior Adviser at Global Counsel, both beginning in November 2023. Kian-Ming is a Member of the Board of Directors at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and a Visiting Senior Fellow at ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute, both roles commenced in August and March 2023, respectively. Kian-Ming has experience as a strategic advisor for the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and served as a Member of Parliament for P102 Bangi and P102 Serdang from May 2013 to October 2022. Previous governmental roles include Deputy Minister at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia and Special Officer to the Minister of Finance. Kian-Ming's academic background includes a PhD in Political Science from Duke University and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, complemented by a BSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
