Sue Byers

Senior Project Officer, Urban Grad Program at IslandWood

Sue Byers serves as the Assistant Provost at Antioch University Seattle since October 2021 and has held the position of Director for the Urban Environmental Education Graduate Program since January 2018 at IslandWood|Antioch University Seattle. In this capacity, Sue provides leadership focused on high-quality learning experiences in the Greater Seattle area. Additionally, as a Senior Project Officer for the Urban Graduate Program at IslandWood since October 2014, Sue designs and implements strategic plans for student practicums. Sue's extensive background includes serving as Chief Academic Officer for the College Success Foundation, where leadership advanced programs for underserved students from 2004 to 2014, and a variety of roles within Seattle Public Schools from 1972 to 2004, including Co-Founder of Middle College High School. As an adjunct faculty member at Pacific Oaks College from 1998 to 2002, Sue taught graduate-level courses. Sue Byers holds a Master of Arts in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from The Evergreen State College, further enhancing a rich career dedicated to education and student success.
