Martin Thompson has a diverse work experience in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) industry. Martin is currently the Chief Executive Officer at ITAM FORUM, a professional body that aims to advance the ITAM industry through certification programs and education. Martin is also a member of ITAM FORUM.

Previously, Martin was the Owner and Founder of The ITAM Review, where they worked as an industry analyst, author, blogger, trainer, and advocate. Martin held the role of Managing Director at The ITAM Review for over a decade.

Martin has also been involved in various other roles and organizations within the ITAM industry. Martin served as the Founder of ITAM Review Learning, whose mission is to provide learning opportunities in ITAM. Martin was also the Founder of ITAM Review Careers, a global consultancy specializing in ITAM and related fields.

In addition to their work in the ITAM industry, Martin served as a Charity Trustee at Swindon Hub CIO, a community space aimed at building a sustainable and cohesive community. Martin was a Member of the Board of Directors at Free ICT Europe Foundation, and they founded and chaired the Campaign for Clear Licensing, a not-for-profit organization advocating for transparent software licensing practices.

Furthermore, Martin has been involved in evangelism for ISO/IEC 19770 Standards at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Martin also served as the Director of Enterprise Opinions Limited, a publishing company that owned The ITAM Review.

Martin's education includes pursuing an MSc in Business Psychology at the University of East London, starting in 2022.

Martin Thompson attended the University of Bedfordshire from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Economics with Psychology. Additionally, they acquired a certification in Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies from Emeritus in 2021.
