Leopoldo De Bernardez has a wide range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Leopoldo began their career as a Research Assistant and Fellow at CONICET in 1980 before becoming a Process Engineer at Aluar from 1985 to 1991. Leopoldo then served as the Jefe de Ingeniería de Materiales at Fate SAICI from 1995 to 2005. During this time, they also held a position as a Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero from 2000 to 2005.
In 2005, De Bernardez joined Akapol S.A. as the R&D Manager until 2014. Leopoldo then transitioned to a role as an Advisor at Technology and Continuous Improvement until 2016. In 2014, they became the Former Owner of Novares, a company focused on smart solutions for sustainability, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. This role will continue until 2023.
De Bernardez has also worked as a Professor at ITBA (Buenos Aires Institute of Technology) since 2019 and served as an Industry 4.0 advisor for the Government of Santa Fe province from February 2019 to November 2019. Currently, they hold positions as the Director CLIO (Centro de Logística Integrada y Operaciones), Professor, and Director at CEOS (Centro de Estudios en Optimización y Simulación) at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires since July 2020.

Leopoldo De Bernardez received their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidad Nacional del Litoral in 1979. Leopoldo later pursued further education and obtained their Doctorate degree in Engineering from the same university between 2004 and 2009. In 1997, Leopoldo briefly attended The University of Akron to study rubber technology, although it is unclear if they completed a degree in this field. Additionally, there is mention of Leopoldo attending TÜV, but the duration and degree obtained are unknown.
