Manuel Jiménez Arreola

Academic Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering at ITESO

Manuel has a PhD in Sustainable Thermal Energy Systems from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. His doctoral thesis work was related to waste heat recovery systems for energy-intensive industries and internal combustion engines, by means of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) in order to produce power and increase the efficiency of energy consumption.

He also has a Master of Science in Power Engineering degree from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany, where he worked on the simulation of systems of biomass thermal gasification coupled with Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) to produce power. Manuel has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the ITESO University.

He has also worked in the industry as a Mechanical Design Engineer, designing components and assemblies of machines dedicated to materials properties research. He joined ITESO and the Department of Technological and Industrial Processes on 2020 teaching subjects on the area of thermo-fluids. He is currently the academic coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor program.
