Michael Durst

Michael Durst has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Michael is currently the Chairman & EVP Strategy at ITONICS - The Innovation OS, where they oversee the company's business and sets governance standards. Michael also founded ITONICS in 2009 and served as CEO, leading the development of the enterprise software suite for managing innovation.

In addition to their work at ITONICS, Durst is the Founder & CEO of Xpertlens, an augmented reality app that connects experts in field service. Michael started this project as a side venture, which quickly became a valuable asset.

Durst is also a renowned Keynote Speaker, delivering lectures, keynotes, and workshops in various areas such as managing innovation, trends, emerging technologies, and business model innovation. Michael has spoken across different industries and has a wide range of audiences.

Furthermore, Durst has experience in the academic field, serving as a Professor of Information Systems at FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management. Michael has also been a guest lecturer at Steinbeis-Hochschule-Berlin, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, and Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Würzburg-Schweinfurt. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Würzburg-Schweinfurt.

Prior to their academic career, Durst held various roles in the industry. Michael worked as a Manager of IT Research & Innovations at adidas, where they established the internal innovation management function. Michael also worked as a Management Consultant at BIK GmbH, focusing on digital projects and e-commerce in industries such as sporting goods, fashion, automotive, construction, and polymer.

Durst's early career involved research and lecturing, as they worked as a Researcher, Lecturer, and PhD student at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. Their research focused on enterprise architecture, IT strategy, IT organization and management, IT governance, and strategic IT controlling.

Michael Durst completed their education in Germany, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems Management at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Michael studied at this institution from 1996 to 2001. Later, Michael pursued a higher level of education and obtained a Doctorate/PhD degree in Management Information Systems and Services from the same university, studying there from 2002 to 2007.

Additionally, Michael Durst obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2010, they completed the PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training at COPARGO GmbH. Furthermore, in 2011, they became a Certified Trainer for IT Experts by obtaining certification from IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken.
