Zahraa Haidar

Zahraa Haidar, PhD, is a scientist currently employed at ITR Laboratories Canada Inc. since January 2023, focusing on the effects of inhaled cannabis and its compounds on respiratory function. Prior to this, Zahraa completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Department of Medicine McGill University, where research involved RNA-seq analysis to explore genetic predictors linked to lung function changes due to cannabis exposure. Zahraa's academic journey includes a PhD from Aix-Marseille University, centered on identifying genes related to neurological genetic diseases, as well as extensive research experience at Saint Joseph University of Beirut in both a Master's 2 capacity and as a PhD researcher. Early training included a role as a Medical Analysis Laboratory Technician, providing foundational knowledge in various areas of clinical diagnostics. Additionally, Zahraa holds advanced degrees in Medical Genetics and Biological and Medical Sciences, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
