Dr. Markenya L. Williams

Dr. Markenya L. Williams is an accomplished educator and leader with a strong focus on diversity, equity, and belonging in educational settings. Currently serving as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at Ivy Tech Community College since July 2024, Dr. Williams is also the Founder and CEO of The Panacea Consulting Firm LLC. Previous roles include Diversity & Equity Chair for the Illinois Principals Association and Assistant Professor & JEDI Faculty Fellow at Harper College. Dr. Williams has extensive experience in K-12 education, including positions as an administrator in Community Unit School District 300 and a primary school teacher in Chicago Public Schools. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from DePaul University, along with multiple professional licenses and degrees in early childhood education and curriculum and instruction from Chicago State University and City Colleges of Chicago.
