Kammy McKenna has a diverse work experience in the art and design industry. Kammy began their career as a Freelance Illustrator for WonderGrove Kids in 2012 and also worked as a Graphic Designer for Whatever Company and Goodie Two Sleeves during the same time period. In 2013, Kammy started their own business, KOOAK Kustoms, where they worked as the Owner and Artist. Kammy then worked as a Contract Illustrator for IXL Learning from 2015 to the present. Kammy has also taken on various freelance roles as an Illustrator for companies such as The Clever Factory Inc., Juvo+, CRee8 Group, and Lee Publications. More recently, they joined Effingham Community Unit School District #40 in 2018 as a Junior High Art Teacher. This range of experiences showcases Kammy's talent and adaptability in different creative roles.
Kammy McKenna's education history includes several different institutions and fields of study. From 2018 to 2019, they attended St. Mary of the Woods College and earned a Teaching Certification in Education. Before that, from 2004 to 2009, they studied Character Animation at the California Institute of the Arts, but did not obtain a degree. Kammy also attended Murray State University from 2006 to 2008, where they pursued an Honors MS in Animal Science. Lastly, from 2000 to 2004, they obtained an Honors Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Painting and Illustration from the University of Illinois System.
