Wendy Black serves as the Chief Curator of Social History & Art at Iziko Museums of South Africa since November 2013, where responsibilities include managing curators, overseeing exhibitions, research, publication, and collection management. Previous positions include Archaeology & Physical Anthropology Curator at the same institution, focusing on archaeological collections and public engagement. Wendy also has part-time lecturing experience at the University of Cape Town, teaching Archaeology and Environmental & Geographical Sciences. Wendy's educational background includes a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Cape Town and multiple qualifications in Project Management and Archaeology from various universities, including the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa.
