Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson has a diverse and extensive work experience across various industries and roles. Mike is currently working as the Director of Highway Engineering at J.B. Hunt Transport Services since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Engineering at the same company from 2021 to 2022, where they were responsible for generating innovative ideas, conducting market research, and serving as an alliance manager with Google Cloud and Waymo. From 2018 to 2021, Mike worked as the Director of Government Services at J.B. Hunt, focusing on expanding the company's presence in the transportation service provider sector for Federal Government Agencies.

Before joining J.B. Hunt, Mike served in the U.S. Army Nuclear and CWMD Agency as the Director of Nuclear Operations and Personnel Development from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they provided nuclear weapon employment expertise to the Department of the Army Headquarters leadership. Mike also held the position of Director of Plans & Operations from 2014 to 2015 at the same agency.

Moreover, Mike has experience working as a Seminar Leader and Senior Fellow at the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) from 2012 to 2014. Mike also worked as a Liaison Instructor at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, they served as an Executive Officer at ISAF in 2010.

In their early career, Mike held various positions in the United States Army, including Assignment Manager at the United States Army Human Resources Command from 2003 to 2005, Physics Instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point from 2000 to 2003, and Company Commander and Maintenance Officer at the 1st Infantry Division from 1996 to 1998. Mike began their military career as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Training Officer in the US Army from 1993 to 1995.

Mike Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, which they obtained between 1987 and 1992. Mike further pursued their education in Mechanical Engineering by earning a Master of Science (MS) degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, from 1998 to 2000. Anderson also completed graduate studies in Nuclear Engineering at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology between 2005 and 2007. In 2012 and 2013, they attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Strategic Studies. In addition to their degrees, Anderson holds certifications as a 6Z Army Strategist and a 5K Army Instructor, obtained in 2013 and 2008 respectively, both from the US Army.
