Lucy Stewart, MBA

Lucy Stewart, MBA, has a diverse work experience in project management and coordination roles. Lucy started their career as a Research Coordinator at BloodCenter of Wisconsin, where they collaborated with the Informatics Department to implement clinical research databases. Lucy also played a crucial role in designing study, sample, and data management systems.

Later, Lucy worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where they directed administrative activities for the Commonwealth Research Study, collaborating with 20 local hospital systems. Lucy facilitated the achievement of study goals and collaborated with the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality.

Lucy then joined the FDA as a Post Graduate Fellow, overseeing project management efforts for multiple high-level research studies. Lucy maintained strong relationships with stakeholders, including the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Immunology, Food and Drug Administration, Milwaukee Health Department, and product vendors. Lucy acted as a liaison between principal investigators, study subjects, collaborators, the local community, and funding agencies.

Currently, Lucy is working at the J. Craig Venter Institute as a Sr. Project Manager II in Informatics/HR/Sequencing Core. Their responsibilities include developing strategic operations to maximize cost effectiveness, promoting morale, and advancing the drive of the informatics department. Lucy also works closely with HR to ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to promotions, performance development plans, and recruitment efforts. Additionally, they maintain integral relationships with other members throughout the organization.

Lucy Stewart, MBA, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Lucy then pursued further education and earned their MBA in Healthcare Management from American InterContinental University in 2007-2008.
