Andreas Nagel has a diverse background in the food and biotechnology industry. Andreas started their career as an intern at Gelita in 2005 and later gained internship experience at Herbstreith & Fox KG in 2006. In 2009, they became a PhD student at Universität Hohenheim and focused on the recovery, fractionation, and analysis of polysaccharides. During this time, they worked on a project involving the integrated tropical fruit processing and recovery of food ingredients from processing residues.
In 2013, Nagel joined J. Rettenmaier & Söhne as a Research & Development Project Manager, where they developed thickening agents, stabilizers, and gelling agents for food applications. Andreas also served as a Business Line Manager and Product Manager for hydrocolloids at JRS Pharma, starting in October 2013.
Recently, Nagel has been working at J. Rettenmaier & Söhne as the Head of the Food Technology and Nutrition Center since May 2020. Prior to this role, they held the position of Innovation Manager at the company.
