Rahul Kinra

Rahul is a part of the Disputes team at JSA. He primarily focuses on regulatory proceedings before statutory authorities, tribunals and courts.

He has been advising clients and rendering legal opinion on regulatory issues relating to power sector including tariff fixation and categorisation, suspension of license, insolvency proceedings, abuse of dominance by generating company, renewable purchase obligations, parallel licensing, open access, connectivity, banking, cross subsidy surcharge, power trading, demand side management, power allocation from a generating company, electricity reform & restructuring (including segregation of distribution sector into wires and retail supply business), safety aspects involving electrical installations and employee related issues.

He has represented private distribution companies and solar power developers before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, Central & State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, National Company Law Tribunal, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and District Courts.

Rahul has been working with the Disputes team in JSA since 2013, after graduating with a specialised degree in energy laws.
