Tom Hensley has extensive experience in forensic operations and death investigations, currently serving as the Chief of Forensic Operations and Investigations at Jackson County Medical Examiners Office since April 1991. In this role, Tom directs a team of supervisors overseeing various departments within the office. Previously, Tom held the position of Deputy Chief Death Investigator, supervising a team across a four-county area, including Kansas City, MO. Tom is also an active member of the National Association of Medical Examiners Assessment Team, providing guidance for accreditation of death investigation systems. Additionally, Tom serves as an educator, annually training a broad audience including law enforcement and medical professionals. Tom's involvement extends to multiple committees and roles, such as Deputy Branch Commander for SEMA - MOMORT1 and a member of the Missouri Disaster Response System's Mortuary Affairs Branch. Tom's early career included serving as an elected Coroner in Clinton County, Missouri, and as an Ambulance Director Paramedic in the Tri-County Ambulance District.
