Joshua A Wood, PhD MBA PMP has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Joshua A is currently the Director of Research Services at The Jackson Laboratory since March 2023.

Previously, Joshua held the position of Associate Director, Mouse Biology Program at UC Davis from June 2015 to March 2023, where they oversaw the production of mutant and transgenic mice through various technologies. Joshua A also served as Associate Director, BGI@ UC Davis from April 2014 to June 2015, managing day-to-day operations and the contractual relationship between UC Davis and BGI.

Prior to their time at UC Davis, Joshua worked as the COO at StemExpress from February 2012 to December 2012, where they supervised laboratory operations and played key roles in business development and marketing.

Joshua A'searlier experience includes working at UC Davis as a Postdoctoral Fellow from July 2009 to February 2012, focusing on research related to cardiovascular disease and other medical conditions. Joshua A also worked as a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Nevada Reno from August 2005 to May 2009, conducting research on stem and progenitor cell biology.

Joshua's earlier roles include a summer intern position at Charles River Laboratories in 2005, a undergraduate laboratory assistant position at the University of Nevada Reno from 2002 to 2005, and a summer employee role at the Las Vegas Valley Water District in 2003.

Throughout their career, Joshua has received recognition for their research and has published multiple papers, theses, and conference proceedings. Joshua A holds a PhD in stem cell biology, an MBA, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Joshua A Wood has an extensive education history. Joshua A obtained their Ph.D. in Cellular & Molecular Biology and their MBA in Finance and Management from the University of Nevada, Reno. Mr. Wood also holds an MS/BS in Biotechnology, which they earned from the same institution. Prior to their university studies, they completed their Magnet and Honors Diploma specializing in Math and Science at Clark High School. In addition to their academic achievements, Wood has obtained certifications such as the Developing as a Supervisor Series from UC Davis and the Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
