Laura Ciaccia West

Laura Ciaccia West has a diverse work experience in the field of medical education and biological sciences. Laura is currently working as the Associate Director of Medical Education at The Jackson Laboratory since August 2023. Prior to this, they served as an Instructional Assistant Professor and Director of the School of Medicine Analytical Cytometry Core at Texas A&M Health Science Center from August 2016 to August 2023. Laura also worked as a Lecturer in Biological Sciences at Southern Methodist University from August 2015 to June 2016. Before that, they were a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University School of Medicine from June 2014 to July 2015, and also worked there as a Graduate student in Immunobiology from September 2007 to May 2014. In addition, Laura has experience in educational roles through Teach For America, where they served as a Professional Development Specialist from July 2013 to June 2014, and as a Content Assessment Specialist from August 2011 to July 2013.

Laura Ciaccia West completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Boston University from 2003 to 2007. Laura then went on to pursue further education at Yale University, where they obtained a Master of Science, Master of Philosophy, and a Ph.D. in Immunobiology from 2007 to 2014.
