Karen Codd

Karen Codd, DAT, LCAT, ATR-BC, serves as the Assistant Director of Team Wellness at Jamaica Hospital, where responsibilities include providing creative arts therapy in inpatient and emergency psychiatry units and contributing as a faculty member of the JHMC Psychiatry Residency Program. With a solid educational background that encompasses a Master's Degree in Art Therapy and a Doctor of Art Therapy from Mount Mary University, Karen has built extensive experience in therapeutic programming, having held positions ranging from Wellness Coordinator to Senior Community Wellness Coordinator. Notable prior roles include Creative Arts Therapist at various facilities, including CAMBA and New Horizon Counseling Center, where Karen provided art therapy to diverse populations. Additional contributions include art-related projects such as being a cover artist and contributor for a collective coloring book by local creative arts therapists and serving as a volunteer site coordinator for the Expressive Therapies Summit.
