Cara Perkins

Cara Perkins (Whaley), MS, MT-BC, NMT, HPMT-Cert., is an accomplished music therapist with extensive experience in various healthcare settings. Currently serving as a music therapist at James L. West Center for Dementia Care since November 2018, Cara has also held roles as a personal care attendant and therapeutic collaborator at Helping Restore Ability since March 2017. Cara's previous positions include music therapist and bereavement specialist at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care and music therapist at St. Gabriel's Hospice & Palliative Care. Additionally, Cara has contributed to community efforts through the American Red Cross, served as a private violin instructor, and gained valuable experience in hospice settings. Educational credentials include a Master’s of Science in Family Studies from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from the same institution.
