Mariruth Leftwich

Mariruth Leftwich serves as the Senior Director of Museum Operations and Education at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation since March 2021, leading various aspects of museum and visitor experiences. In addition, Mariruth has been a board member for the Museum Education Roundtable since August 2015, contributing to professional learning and innovation in museum education. Mariruth previously held significant roles at the Senator John Heinz History Center, including Director of Learning, where leadership spanned audience programming and gallery interpretation, and Education Manager, focusing on program development for diverse learners. Additional experience includes the role of e-Learning Officer at the Museum of London, pioneering digital learning initiatives, and Vice President for Education and Programs at The Charlotte Museum of History, where audience engagement significantly increased. Mariruth's educational background includes a PhD in Museum and Gallery Education from the University of London and multiple degrees focused on education and history.
