Geoffrey Coons began their work experience in 2004 as an Installation Technician at Operational Security Systems, Inc. Geoffrey then joined the United States Air Force in 2008 as an Aircraft Structural Maintainer, where they completed training and gained proficiency in sheet metal and structural repairs on various aircraft. In 2012, they returned to Operational Security Systems, Inc. as a Web Designer/Technician, responsible for designing and maintaining webpages, as well as installing and programming security systems for multiple corporations.
In 2014, Coons joined ista North America as an IT Operations Analyst, configuring and supporting a production environment for multiple clients and collaborating with various teams to resolve issues. At the same time, they also worked at Logitrans Express as a Technical Lead, managing and mentoring personnel in the IT and Auditing departments, and integrating multiple platforms for customers. Geoffrey also self-taught Robotic Process Automation and implemented it in the company.
In 2019, Coons transitioned to a Software Developer role at Janus International before becoming the Director of Technical Support in 2021. As the Director of Technical Support, they served as the main liaison between the development team and the support/field team, translating customer experiences into technical action items for the engineering team. Geoffrey managed a team of 18 technical support engineers providing exceptional customer support services.
Currently, they hold the position of Director of Quality Assurance at Janus International, where they drive end-to-end software quality and focuses on ensuring strong customer experiences. Geoffrey is responsible for defining the overall testing strategy and tactics, as well as developing and maintaining comprehensive test plans and test cases. Geoffrey also tracks and reports metrics for continuous improvement and engages in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
Geoffrey Coons completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Kennesaw State University. Geoffrey pursued this degree from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, in the year 2010, they attended Northwest Florida State College, where they studied Computer Information Systems, but did not obtain a degree.
