Shinichi Itagaki

Shinichi Itagaki currently serves as Director and Advisor in the Strategic Research Department at Japan Bank for International Cooperation since July 2022. Prior to this role, Shinichi held several positions within the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Japan from April 2020 to August 2023, including Deputy Director to the Counselor. Shinichi's extensive experience at Japan Bank for International Cooperation also includes roles as an Economist in the Country Credit Department and Representative in New York, among other positions. Shinichi's early career included internships and project management roles with notable project oversight in Asia and the Middle East. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in International Development Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor's in Economics from Kyoto University.
