Toyoda Kohei is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of economics and energy strategy. Currently serving as the Director General for Energy Transformation Strategy and Chief Representative for the Middle East at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation since April 2019, Toyoda also holds the role of Advisor. Prior roles include serving as the Director for International Coordination at the Trade Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry from April 2017 to March 2019, and having a long tenure at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation from April 1997 to March 2017, focusing on project finance for IPP/IWPP projects in EMEA. Toyoda holds a Master’s degree in Economics from UCL (2001-2002) and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kobe University (1994-1997).
