John Sholar

John Sholar has a diverse and extensive work experience. John currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at jCyte, Inc. John previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at the same company. Prior to that, they were the Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel. John started their journey at jCyte, Inc. as the General Counsel and worked there until 2022.

Before joining jCyte, Inc., Sholar worked as the Vice President Regulatory, Compliance, and Government Affairs at dosist from 2019 to 2021. John also worked at Santen as the Director of the Legal Department from 2018 to 2019, and as Counsel and Associate Director of Litigation and Contracts from 2017 to 2019.

Sholar gained legal experience as a Partner in the Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Education Group at Husch Blackwell from 2010 to 2017. John started their legal career as an Associate at Winston & Strawn LLP from 2008 to 2010.

Prior to their legal career, Sholar served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant from 2000 to 2004, and later, as a Judicial Clerk to Judge Margaret Ryan at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces from 2007 to 2008.

John Sholar obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2000. John then pursued their Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Illinois College of Law, which they completed in 2006.
