Manager of Project Controls at Jedson Engineering

Les Castro has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Les began their career as a Project Engineer at International Paper in 1993, where they oversaw capital projects and provided comprehensive engineering services. In 1999, they joined DHL Express as a Project Manager, overseeing airport site development for the DHL/Airborne Express Integration Project. Les then joined Jacobs in 2008, where they held various roles including Senior Project Manager and Project Controls Manager. During their time at Jacobs, Les was responsible for creating a new Project Controls Department, managing a Project Controls team, and implementing best practices and systems. Les also played a key role in the construction of a $365M ceramic matrix composites facility for GE Aviation. In 2020, Les joined Duke Energy Corporation as a Principal Project Controls, where they implemented and managed project controls processes for a $201M natural gas pipeline installation project. Most recently, Les joined Jedson Engineering in 2022 as the Manager of Project Controls, where they are responsible for implementing and maintaining project controls for engineering and construction projects. Overall, Les Castro has extensive experience in project controls, project management, and engineering across a range of industries.

Les Castro attended the University of Cincinnati from 1988 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following: in February 2018, they became Procore Certified as an Engineer, Project Manager (Core Tools), and Project Manager (Project Management) from Procore Technologies. In May 2015, they also obtained the Procore Certified Associate certification from the same institution. Furthermore, Les acquired the OSHA 30 HOUR - CONSTRUCTION HEALTH & SAFETY certification from the U.S. Department of Labor in July 2009 and the Safety Trained Supervisor certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in June 2009.
