Michael Roy began their work experience as a Lab Technician's Assistant at the U.S. Department of Agriculture from October 2002 to August 2005. Michael then joined Florida Crystals Corporation as a Process (SRDP) Engineer from May 2008 to August 2010, where they worked on various projects including designing controls to reduce sucrose losses at the desweetening system.
Following that, Michael worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology, initially as a Student from August 2010 to August 2012, during which they maintained above a 3.5 GPA and took on leadership roles such as being the President of TAPPI. Michael then served as a Graduate Student Assistant, conducting research related to lignin conversion, from an unspecified date in 2010 to an unspecified date in 2011.
After their time at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Michael joined Georgia-Pacific LLC in August 2012. Michael held various roles within the company, including Manufacturing (Process) Engineer from August 2012 to March 2014, where they managed assets on a tissue machine. Michael Roy earned their Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida from 2005 to 2008. Later, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
