David Hicks Do, Mph, Faafp

David Hicks, DO, MPH, FAAFP, serves as the Health Officer for the Jefferson County Department of Health, a role held since 2014, which also includes responsibilities as Deputy Health Officer, COVID-19 Incident Commander, and Medical Director. Previously, David held the position of COVID-19 Public Health Branch Director at Jefferson County Unified Command from March 2020 to May 2021 and worked as a PRN Physician at American Family Care from 2014 to 2020. Other experience includes serving as a Site Physician at Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Chief Medical Officer at Birmingham Healthcare, and Physician at Cooper University Health Care. David completed residency training at Christiana Care Health System from 2007 to 2010 and obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. Additional educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
