Brian Sweeney

Brian Sweeney was named President & COO of Jefferson Health New Jersey in March 2020. A 23-year Jefferson Health veteran, Brian most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for divisional operations across the continuum of care, which includes four acute care hospitals, a 700-employed-physician multi-specialty practice, and ancillary businesses. He is an experienced transformational healthcare executive who has successfully led and managed a diverse portfolio of clinical programs, operational departments, and support services. He has focused on strategic planning, business development, process improvement, service line leadership — and integrating and aligning physicians, nurses, and support services personnel — to achieve desired outcomes in quality and safety, financial performance, and growth. Brian shares his knowledge of healthcare operations and performance improvement as a speaker at national healthcare conferences. A registered nurse who holds an MBA from Temple University, Brian is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and enjoys developing leaders and mentoring/coaching early careerists.
