Dr. James Gray

Dr. James Gray currently serves as the Superintendent for the Jefferson Parish Public School System, a position held since July 2020. Prior to this role, Dr. Gray was the Chief of Schools for Jefferson Parish Schools from March 2018 to July 2020 and served as the Director of School Leadership at the Vermilion Parish School Board from 2012 to March 2018. As the founder of James Gray Consulting, Dr. Gray provided services related to goal setting, professional learning communities, and educational evaluation systems. Previous experience includes tenures as Principal at Westgate High School and Anderson Middle School, along with teaching at Jeanerette Middle School. Dr. Gray holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a Master's degree in Administration/Principalship from Nicholls State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Grambling State University.
