Rabbi Mordechai Harris has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Starting in 2006, they attended YCT Rabbinical School until 2012. In 2007 and 2009, they worked as a Mashgiach for Yugntruf - Youth for Yiddish, where they oversaw all things related to Kashrut. From 2009 to 2010, they served as an Associate Regional Director for NCSY, working on various aspects of the organization. Simultaneously, they also worked as a JLIC Fellow at the Hillel at University, providing mentorship and designing youth prayer services. From 2010 to 2012, Rabbi Harris worked as a Youth Rabbi at the Hebrew Institute of White Plains. Rabbi Mordechai then held various roles from 2012 to 2016, including Teen Rabbi and Outreach Director at Baron Hirsch Congregation and Educational Director at Camp Darom. From 2015 to 2018, they served as a Rabbi and Judaic Studies Faculty at the Bornblum Jewish Community School. In 2016, they became the Director of the Center for Jewish Living and Learning at the Memphis Jewish Community Center. Lastly, since 2019, Rabbi Harris has been involved with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, first as the Executive Director of the Center for Jewish Education, then as the Interim Chief Operating Officer, and currently as the Chief Impact Officer & Rabbi in Residence.
Rabbi Mordechai Harris obtained their Rabbinic Ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School between 2006 and 2012. Rabbi Mordechai also pursued a BA in Political Science and Legal Studies at the University of Rochester from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, they participated in the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Department of Pastoral Care & Education - Pastoral Care Intern program from 2009 to 2010.
