Derrick Hill, PE, PMP has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Derrick began their career in the US Army, serving as a Platoon Leader from May 2015 to November 2016, and later as a Task Force Engineer from December 2016 to December 2017. In these positions, they demonstrated leadership and project management skills.

Following their military service, Derrick joined the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Field Engineer from January 2018 to July 2018. Here, they gained experience in project management, overseeing the design phase and collaborating with stakeholders and technical review teams. Derrick also played a role in contract negotiation and reviewed contract bids.

After their time with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Derrick returned to the US Army as a Space Operations Officer from June 2019 to March 2023. In this position, they worked in a secure environment, specializing in Space and Special Technical Operations. Derrick attended the STO Planner's Course and played a crucial role in planning operations for the 10th Mountain Division.

Currently, Derrick is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at JFL CONSULTING, LLC, starting in March 2023.

Derrick Hill, PE, PMP has an extensive education history that includes both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Derrick received their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Following their undergraduate education, Derrick went on to pursue a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, completing their studies in 2020.

In their continued pursuit of academic excellence, Derrick is currently enrolled at The University of New Mexico, where they are pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Derrick began their studies in 2021 and is expected to complete the program in 2023. As part of their education, they also earned a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Business Analytics from the University of South Carolina in 2022.

In addition to their educational achievements, Derrick has obtained notable certifications. Derrick became a Project Management Professional (PMP) in June 2018, having received the certification from the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, in November 2019, they attained the Professional Engineer (PE) designation from the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
