Cheryl Hawkins is a Senior Architect/Systems Engineer whose recent work experience includes serving as an architecture team member and modeling Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Aviation Missions Systems and Architecture (AMSA) Aviation Architecture and Environmental Exploitation (A2E2) product office at JHNA. Cheryl also developed and maintained MagicDraw SysML models for the Common Operating Environment (COE) Convergence Functionality to support Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) objectives. Previously, they were a Senior Systems Engineer at TMC Design Corporation where they led the Systems Engineering (SE) team for a large Program of Record, ensuring adherence to contractually mandated IEEE 15288 standards for engineering activities. Cheryl worked as a Systems Engineer Principal at SAIC from 2015 to 2017, and coordinated and taught science at Covenant Christian Academy from 2003 to 2015. Additionally, they worked as an independent consultant and instructor from 1993 to 2014, and started their engineering career as an Engineering Aide with the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1981.
Cheryl Hawkins, CSEP obtained their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1984. In 2017, they obtained their Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification from INCOSE after completing their Master's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, which they attended from 2014 to 2017. In 2021, they also obtained the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional certification from the Object Management Group.
