Xinqi Yan

Xinqi Yan has held two positions in the past two years. In 2022, they worked as a Practicum Project Quantitative Analyst at Jia Finance, where they cleaned and analyzed over 600GB of single family loan performance data from Fannie Mae. Xinqi conducted data wrangling, feature engineering, and data visualization, and used logistic regression to estimate monthly probabilities a loan is in certain states. Xinqi also created a model that calculated loss severity (loss given default) after borrower default. In the same year, they also worked as a Data Analyst at Uber, where they cleaned and analyzed 700k+ rows of data in python, conducted hypothesis testing, found relationships between cabs, locations and weather by evaluating correlation and p-value. Xinqi also created plots using python matplotlib and seaborn to visualize results, and wrote up a final report and provided pricing strategies that can potentially help Uber increase profit.

Xinqi Yan attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2021 to 2022, where they obtained a Master's degree in Financial Engineering.
