Paul Deegan

Paul Deegan is a Vice President at JM Search and a member of the Firm’s Legal Practice. His focus centers on placing Partners at Am Law 100 firms as well as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officers at private equity-backed companies. Paul has placed top executive talent at some of the best companies across various industries, including Technology, Life Sciences, Banking & Finance, Industrial, and Retail. As a former civil litigation attorney, Paul has a unique ability to connect with clients and candidates to close attorney searches quickly and efficiently.

Prior to joining JM Search, Paul was a full-service recruiter for Odgers Berndtson and The Lancer Group where he executed and delivered on C-Level private equity-backed searches. His soup-to-nuts approach had him involved at every level of a search, from researching the target environment to interviewing prospects and presenting top candidates to clients.

Earlier in his career, Paul served as a civil litigator who defended and tried cases in Ohio and federal courts. His experience ran the gamut from federal regulation to employment and labor law, contract disputes, tax issues, and personal injury. Paul’s diverse legal experience allowed him to gain exposure to everything from filing trademark applications with the USPTO for clients to briefing First Amendment issues before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Paul resides in the King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He earned his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University where he served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Health.
