Jeff Courington

Vice President Of OAMP Software Development at JMA Wireless

Jeff Courington has extensive work experience in software development and engineering roles. Jeff is currently employed at JMA Wireless, where they have held various positions since 2016. Jeff began as a Senior L3 Engineer and moved up to a Principal Software Engineer. In 2019, they became the Executive Director of OAMP Software Development, and in 2020, they were promoted to Vice President of OAMP Software Development.

Prior to working at JMA Wireless, Jeff worked at Axxcelera Broadband Wireless from 2008 to 2016 as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they were involved in MBMS development, VLAN bridge development, GRE tunnel development, and various other software development tasks.

Before that, Jeff worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cinea, Inc., a wholly-owned Dolby Company, from 2004 to 2008. Jeff was responsible for architecting video processing engines and developing video stream parsing SDKs.

From 2002 to 2004, Jeff worked at Capital One as a Senior Systems Administrator. Jeff was in charge of system administration for Solaris and HP/UX systems and developed system update plans.

Jeff's career started in 1993 at Circuit City, where they held the role of Senior Systems Programmer. Jeff worked with various operating systems, including Solaris, HP/UX, AIX, HP/MPE, and AS/400, and developed file transfer and job execution infrastructure.

Jeff Courington attended Virginia Tech from 1985 to 1989, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. In 1991, they briefly enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science, which they did not complete.
