Peter Grogan

Peter heads the firm’s Business Crime & Regulation team; he has almost unrivalled experience as a defence lawyer having been with the form since its formative years. Peter has vast experience in cases of general crime, sexual offences, motoring offences and fraud and financial wrongdoing. Recognised by colleagues and peers alike for his acumen, forensic eye and intuitive understanding of the dynamics of a criminal or regulatory investigation or prosecution.

Under Peter’s stewardship, the team has achieved remarkable dual rankings both by Chambers’ ‘Guide to the Legal Profession’ both in Crime and Financial Crime (both at Band 1) and by Legal 500 both in Crime:General and Crime:Fraud (Tier 1). Peter, too, is recognised as a ‘leading’ individual by both publications, and in particular is described by Legal 500 as ‘exceptional’ and who ‘gets great results’. The Team won the Manchester Law Society’s Regulatory Team of the Year award in 2019.

Peter undertakes his own advocacy and has a proven track record of successful outcomes and unfailingly robustly and persuasively represents the interests of his client, whether large or small.
